About The Lela A. Kelly and J. D. "Pete" Nance Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
Welcome to the Family Tree Website of Lela Angeline Kelly and James Donald `Pete` Nance. This site contains much of the information I have uncovered for the Kelly and Nance families which were combined when Mother and Daddy married on November 13, 1940, in Pecos, Reeves County, Texas.

I have entered a large part of the information I have for both sides of the family; but I still have lots of information about the Huelsters, Kellys, Mounts, Ottos, and Reagans (Mother`s side) and about the Clines, Kellums, Maxeys, Nances and Smiths (Daddy`s side) that I need to enter. While there is still much research that needs to be done for both sides of the family, I am able to do it only as time permits as I continue to stay quite busy with my volunteer work for Patrick`s school.

Patrick and I visited Mother during his Spring Break last week (March 10- 16) and she opened Daddy`s Army foot locker and found tons of photographs and important family documents which we scanned and burned to a CD. In addition to that, Jim Blanchard, Lenora`s husband, burned two CDs full of photos for me to include. God Bless You, Jim. His photos need little or no work on them so I can add them to the tree very quickly. His work, as usual, is of the highest quality. So I have started adding photos for as many people as I can. TribalPages.com allows a maximum of five photographs for each person. In some cases I easily have five photos of a person and for others I don`t have any at all. If you have any photos (old or current) that you are willing to share and would like included in our family tree we can work out how to get them to me.

I began this project in late July 2002 when Patrick and I visited with Mother in Pecos. Since then, I have found that it is very difficult for me to stop working on it once I get going because it is so fun for me, and when I actually find a real person out there and can get additional information from him/her..., well, it makes my day! ;-) And believe me I have found quite a few cousins we never knew existed or with whom we had completely lost contact. Technology is a wonderful thing and I appreciate it immensely. So far I have accomplished all my research from the comfort of my own home.

I have learned so much from this process and will share all my information with everyone as I learn more and more details. So check back here regularly. In addition, I know there are errors in my work; so please don`t take offense at them. I would really appreciate it if you would notify me of any corrections or changes that need to be made.

Also, check out the Other Links I have included. If you need additional information about accessing any of them, just email me and I will send you the information you need.

Thanks for stopping by and I sincerely hope you enjoy your visit.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
